Vintage 1950s Astnon/Astron Japanese Photo Enlarger Bakelite Handles 69cm 🦩

$120.00

This is a vintage 1950s Japanese photo enlarger, branded Astnon, though its design is nearly identical to the Astron enlargers of the same period—suggesting a likely rebranding for international distribution. These enlargers were manufactured during the post-war boom in Japanese optical and camera technology, when companies like Konica, Asahi (Pentax), and Minolta were emerging as global competitors.

The enlarger is built primarily from metal, with Bakelite handles, and was designed for 35mm film formats, popular with both home darkroom users and small studios.

Condition & Functionality:

  • Power tested – light globe works

  • Not tested for enlarging

  • Structural note: The black bellows-like section beneath the lamp has come slightly away from the metal frame and may require gluing or adjustment

  • Ideal for restoration, display, or collectors of vintage photographic equipment

Dimensions:

  • Height: 69 cm (27.2″)

  • Length: 30 cm (11.8″)

  • Depth: 24 cm (9.4″)

A striking and authentic piece of mid-century darkroom technology, perfect for display in a studio, retro home office, or collection of vintage Japanese optics.
