Beautiful vintage 1983 Brenda collector doll with a bisque/ceramic head, long brunette hair and large brown inset eyes.

The doll is marked on the back “Brenda 1983”, “Ges. gesch.” and what appears to be “1010”.

“Ges. gesch.” is the German abbreviation for “gesetzlich geschützt”, meaning “legally protected” or “protected by law”. This marking is associated with German doll designs and can also appear on later reproduction doll moulds based on earlier German dolls.

She has a bisque/ceramic head and face with hard plastic arms and legs. Her separate body components are internally joined/tensioned with cord. She has brown inset eyes, painted facial details, an open-mouth expression and long brunette synthetic hair.

She wears a lovely pale pink Victorian-style dress with multiple layers of cream lace ruffles, ribbon detailing and puffed sleeves, together with a straw-style floral hat.

The doll is in used vintage condition with surface marks, scuffs and areas of age-related wear. There is some marking and wear to the face, hands and legs, including darker scuffing/paint wear to one leg.
