Antique Postmas bag leather satchel

This is a beautiful and very old leather bag. We thing it maybe an old mailman’s bag or military as it has a serial number written on the side. We found this treasure on our travels through a Georgian town called Oatlands. This leather is very thick and heavy and the edge of the rim at the opening, the leather encases a metal frame. It is far from perfect with a missing buckle on the front, and scratches to the worn leather, but that is part of its charm and history.  Please refer to the photographs and the dimensions.
