Vintage GEC German heating coil boiling water Wasserdicht not working AYLBT

This is a vintage heating element used by tourist’s to boil their water. It is German and manufactured by Wasserdicht and GEC-England plug. The coil is a silver chrome and the head is a red bakelite. This is very old wiring and should be tested with a certified electrician. I tested the element, and it blew fuse in the house (as I have a safety switch), so the wiring must be changed before use. Please refer to the photographs.
